U3A @Duxton Hill: Public talk on Mindfulness on Wellbeing on 21st May 2022 Saturday (Zoom)

We are pleased to inform you that the U3A@Duxton Hill under Renhai Centre Ltd is resuming the U3A talks, which were stopped temporarily due to pandemic. You are welcome to attend a talk by Ms Joy Chen on Mindfulness. Please see below for more details.

Mindfulness practice can make you feel happier and find contentment in life, decrease anxiety and depression, and improve moods, concentration, and memory. This in turn makes for fulfilling relationships, boosts the immune system, and reduces the risk of illness from chronic stress. 

Through this talk, you will learn about mindfulness and how to practice and apply it in your daily lives for a stronger mental wellbeing.

In our daily lives, we may face stressors which affect our ability to experience life in a positive manner and could increase our vulnerability to mental health difficulties. Prof Hong Hai will be giving a public talk on 'Chinese Health Cultivation (养生) for Vigour and Active Ageing' in conjunction with a book launch of his book Pursuing the Elixir of Life: Chinese Medicine for Health. Minister of State for Health, Mr Chee Hong Tat will be the Guest-of-Honour for the event. Details are as follow:

Talk Synopsis: Book authors Professor Hong Hai and TCM Physician Karen Wee will deliver a talk on Chinese methods of health cultivation to attain vigorous health and help prevent conditions like cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and dementia. Exxon Mobil Recreation Club: Recipes for Health and Longevity

A TCM health talk with lunch was organised for Exxon Mobil Recreation Club on 21st June 2014 at Herbal Oasis @ Duxton. The title of the talk, Recipes for Health and Longevity, which revolves around the introduction of medicated recipes and various recipes of herbal porridges, soups and teas for general maintenance, had indeed intrigued the audience. The talk was followed by a healthy herbal lunch, where they had the opportunity to find out how tasty and 'herbalicious' a healthy meal can be!
